1. Explain what happened to the man that was killed by the subway and how the photographer was able to take the photo. 
man was run over by a New York subway train after being shoved onto the tracks by an unidentified assailant. photographer says he had taken out his camera and snapped pictures of Han's (victim) final moments in an effort to alert the coming train's driver with his flash that something was wrong. 


2. Why did the photographer say he took the photo? it was unintentional,he took out his camera and snapped pictures of Han's (victim) final moments in an effort to alert the coming train's driver with his flash that something was wrong. 

3. Do you think the photographer should have taken the photo? in my opinion,i think the photographer should have rushed to help the guy who had fallen into the tracks or at least done something else to alert the driver of the subway. 

4. Do you think the photographer did the best thing he could have done in this situation? Why or why not? i don't think the driver did the best that he could because there was plenty of other ways he could've helped alert the driver instead of only using his camera which could've easily been mistaken by someone actually taking a photo. 

5. Do you agree or disagree with the decision to run the photo on the front page of the New York Post? Explain why or why not. i don't think they should have ran the photo on the front of the new york post,they should've known a lot of people were bound to be appalled by it,and wouldn't have liked it at all. 

6. What is more important to a photojournalist, capturing images of life as it happens or stopping bad things from happening? Why or why not? it all depends on what kind of person the photojournalist is,if it cares about the fame a photo will bring him then of course he or she would snap a picture first.

7. Do you think it is ever ethically acceptable for a photographer to involve himself/herself in a situation that he or she photographs? Explain why or why not.  i don't think its very ethical acceptable because as a person its just cruel to witness something that can be stopped. 

8. Should photojournalists always avoid influencing events as they happen? Explain your answer. yes,it would be a way better world if a lot of things would've been put to stop. 


9. After reading the responses from the professional photographers, what stands out as the most appropriate response for a photographer to this situation. i think its best if the "person" in a photographer came out and put a stop to whatever a bad situation is instead of snapping a picture of it.

rule of thirds- photo captures selected crowd (the object). the object is equally spread out into each square when the picture is split up into thirds. the photo is captured while in motion,so it would make sense for this to be the rule of thirds composition rule. 

balance- photo is taken of the olympic logo (the object). the object is set up to be in the middle,if it were to be split in half it would be the same on both sides. both sides would have half of the logo,half of the top thing holding the logo and half of the full moon. therefore it would make sense for this to be the balance composition rule. 

simplicity and repetition- photo is taken of a long trail with person walking in the middle but not focused on the person. the trail is the exact same along on the entire picture,does not change,stays green. so for this photo i'd like to say its repetition cause its like a pattern/repetition of the same thing. simplicity because it captures an entire scenario and does not focus on the person,entire background is captured with a moving person in the middle. it would make sense for this photo to be both simplicity and repetition composition rule. 

avoiding mergers- photo is taken of a soldier (the object). the object is singled out and blurs out background, it avoids capturing anything from the background. it does a good job of singling out what goes on in the back of the object. if it were to be split up into thirds you wouldn't really know what you're looking at if you were to be looking at a third of the picture. so it would make sense for this photo to be the composition rule of avoiding mergers.

2. the smaller the Aperture larger the f-number the higher the Aperture the smaller the lens. 

3. In your own words tell me how aperture impacts Depth of Field? A large f-number will bring all foreground and background objects in focus, while a small f-number will isolate the foreground from the background by making the foreground objects sharp and the background blurry.
